NuggMD CEO Charlie Russell joins the Trade to Black podcast, presented by Flowhub, to break down two state medical cannabis stories worth watching.
Hosts Shadd Dales and Anthony Varrell start in Georgia, where the Access to Medical Cannabis Commission approved a rule allowing licensed producers to deliver medical cannabis to registered patients by USPS or private carrier, including to long-term care facilities. Deliveries could begin as early as October 28. With roughly 57,000 patients on the registry and thousands joining each week after SB 220 removed the old 5% THC cap, the episode looks at what home delivery means for rural patients and the companies serving them.
Next up is Texas, where the Compassionate Use Program has grown past 135,000 registered patients but still covers less than half a percent of the state. With new dispensary licenses approved but not yet open, and a crackdown on hemp-derived THC now in effect, the discussion covers whether patients are shifting into the medical program and what limits remain on price, products and physician participation.
In segment two, former DEA Assistant Special Agent in Charge Chris Urben, now a managing director at Nardello & Co., joins the show.

He explains what he’s seen in states including Oklahoma, Maine and California, why he says these cases deserve federal priority, and what he wants lawmakers to do.
